Sacraments

At the Abbey we make three Sacraments, these are: the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Communion, in Year 3 and Confirmation takes place in Year 5.

Our school prides itself on strong links between the parish school and home. This means that the preparation for these sacraments remains very strong.

Sacramental Preparation

Our Year 3 pupils prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist (First Holy Communion). Year 5 pupils prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Year 3 children are supported in their preparation of the Sacrament of First Holy Communion by attending a day retreat at Alton Castle. Year 5 children also attend a three day retreat at Alton castle before receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
