Inspections

Our school was last inspected by Ofsted in October 2008.
We were delighted to be classed as a good school with many outstanding features. Here are some quotes from the report:
- The strong Catholic ethos securely underpins the excellent care provided for pupils and their outstanding spiritual, moral and social development.
- Pupils are confident and show considerable maturity in the way they tackle their work and discuss issues important to them.
- Pupils feel very safe and secure at school and work together very well to support one another.
- Parents are overwhelmingly supportive of the school and many think it is a 'fantastic school'.
- Pupils' behaviour is outstanding.

Religious Education Inspection
Our last RE Inspection was in November 2008. The inspection stated:
"The Abbey is an outstanding Catholic school. The strong Catholic ethos underpins children's attitudes and values so that they develop good and positive approaches to life. This vibrant Catholic ethos and values of the school, which are accepted by the whole school community, permeate every aspect of the curriculum and the life of the school."
The other areas that were judged as outstanding were: Leadership and management and Community Cohesion. The Curriculum and Teaching and Learning was judged to be good, achievement is excellent and standards are high. Collective worship is considered to be a strong feature of the school.
