Annual Award Winners
At the end of the school year we are delighted to present some special awards to pupils who have excelled in one capacity or another throughout the year.
Awards 2010/11
This year's awards were presented at our end-of-year Celebration Assembly on 21 July 2011.
100% Attendance Awards

Gold Attendance Award winners.
For the first time, those children who had not missed any time off school for a whole school year received a special recognition certificate.
Twenty nine pupils had been in every day of the academic year 2010/11. Well done – keep it up!
Tierney Trophy Winner

The Tierney Trophy winner.
The Tierney Trophy has been created to recognise those pupils who display the ‘Abbey Values’. It is named after our previous Headteacher, Mike Tierney, who was at the Abbey for over 25 years.
The pupil who won this year was chosen by her peers, for her attitude, enthusiasm and general outlook over the time she has spent at the Abbey. She was given a smaller replica to keep!
McGreevy Trophy Winner

The McGreevy Trophy winner.
The inaugural McGreevy trophy was voted for by the staff of the school, and could have been given to anyone who displayed great effort and perseverance. The trophy is named after one of our devoted governors who has had an association with the school for over 45 years, Mr John McGreevy.
The winner, was a Year 6 boy who was voted for overwhelmingly by many staff members.
Sportsperson of the Year

Sportsperson of the Year Trophy winner.
This year, the decision of who to choose to win this annual trophy, was an easy one.
The Year 6 pupil who won has consistently shown dedication and enthusiasm to many sports. He has represented the school on many occasions and always give his best.
